NFT continues to gain applications and adoptions from many significant celebrities. One of the latest is G Dragon, whose NFT collection sold out soon after the sale began.

The pop artist Kwon Ji-yong (G-Dragon), based in South Korea, recently launched an NFT collection termed PEACEMINUSONE NFT collection Archive 2016. The love affair between G Dragon and NFT was first mentioned early this year.

On Feb. 17, the South Korean artist entered a partnership with BNB Chain and Fandom Studios in a mission to create the PEACEMINUSONE NFT collection Archive 2016. At this point, the NFT development was in the early stages.

Later, on March 21, the K-Pop singer announced that he would release a new NFT collection on March 22. The sale for the NFT collection began and ended on March 22.

G-Dragon crafted a painting called Archive 2016, representing the identity of PEACEMINUSONE, the K-pop star’s brand. This painting has key elements of the rapper’s life and professional growth. The NFTs in the collection consist of small puzzle pieces of the painting.

At inception, the NFT collection came with a floor price of just about $0.27 BNB, representing around $88. This collection was made of about 13,444 unique digital collectibles.

The sale of these NFTs was closed as soon as it started since all the pieces were bought in merely a few hours. The NFTs are valued at just about 0.25 BNB, a little drop from the sale price.

Later in early April, G Dragon entered another collaboration with Nike, a fashion brand creating some sneaker lines.

This collaboration also gave birth to the Kwondo ‘giveaway’ event, where NFT holders would participate and win a pair of Nike-created sneakers.

“We are thrilled to have Fandom Studio and PEACEMINUSONE join the BNB Chain community and be a part of such an interactive approach to NFTs… We can’t wait to see the community’s engagement with the collection.”

Alvin Kan, director of growth at BNB Chain.

The involvement of musicians in the NFT space is not jaw-dropping, considering the benefits that some have amassed from the industry.
